Wi-Fi signal strength monitoring in the new LANState 9.8 release
Even during the lockdown, we do not stop working on our products and today we have released an update to the network management program LANState Pro.
Monitoring Wi-Fi signal strength
The most important news is that LANState can now monitor the signal level of Wi-Fi routers and access points. With the help of the new check, you will be able to find out in time about a drop in the quality of the wireless network signal or its disconnection altogether.
Setting up the check is extremely simple: you need to select a network from the list of available ones and set the signal level threshold at which the notification will be triggered. A Wi-Fi adapter must be installed on the computer with LANState so that the program can see wireless networks.
Redirect and authorization on the page
We also improved the check of the availability and content of sites via the HTTP/HTTPS protocol. We added the ability to automatically log in to a site via an additional POST request with parameters. After authorization, the program can receive previously inaccessible data from the site. And we added redirect processing if the first attempt failed to access the page at the specified URL.
Tooltip
Added a setting for what to show in the host tooltip. You can disable the display of host comments or monitoring check messages. Increased the amount of text displayed in the tooltip.
